happy RW day!

I got up at 3 a.m. this morning to celebrate some long time friends' holy matrimony. They have been very dear to my heart for years now, so it's the least I could do. What I thought was pretty comical - Blake was still up studying for his test when my Royal Wedding alarm sounded. So we got to see each other in the mid morning hours - I kinda liked it.

I've never seen such a gorgeous bridal gown. I'm dying over here.

All I can think about is.... Will they have little chapstick tubes for their guests with pictures of the royal couple on them?

douuuuubt it. One up Baker-Johnson wedding! :)

filler post.

to at least have something new on the blog I'm uploading this.

it's really dark. apologies. it adds to the HAPPY SPRING attitude that's going on in the apartment! 5 bucks well spent at Walmart yesterday during the terrible terrible activity that is grocery shopping.

I'm awaiting pictures from the new up and coming photographer, Bubba Johnson, from the Easter weekend spent with the Johnsons to share via blog.

soon. very soon.

a little bragging.

Lettuce take this time for me to brag on my husband a little. A sure sign that I got a winner - he asked me to pick out furniture pieces that I liked and he would build them for me. Say WHAT?? So, it started with this..

a sturdy sucker. from Crate and Barrel. Price $1,299.00

I liked the open air shelves on each side and in person it looks chocolate-y wood heaven. I gave this to Blake along with a picture of this guy..

from Crate and Barrel. Price $699.00

I liked how it has a farm table feel, but in the stylings of a coffee table. I always love oval coffee tables and with the L-shape of our couch I think the different shapes would have played nicely together, but I couldn't get my mind off of this one. I think I was in the chunky wood furniture mood.

So, a weekend away during summer before Blake started Med School plus one wonderful Papoo (Blake's grandpa) and tons of hard work and a little love - We now have an apartment full of irreplaceable furniture pieces.

our t.v. console. revamped for our specific needs. shelf for at&t u-verse box and knobs for the doors - specialized order from Crate and Barrel, unheard of! But from the shops of Blake and Papoo - of course!

our coffee table. I love everything about it. The planks that make the top and bottom shelf. The stain. The height, width and depth. It fits like a glove in our couch. Our couch spoons the coffee table - they're in love.

and finally. a bonus piece. a book shelf for Blake's study. I should re-organize the shelfs - I just noticed post picture taking that they look a little chaotic. But, we're moving in a few months - I'll re-organize then.

this one was an original design, but bookshelves on Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel range from $199.00 to $1,200.00

I'm told that all materials (with contractor's discount) and everything totaled around $550.00. For 3 pieces - a tv stand, coffee table and book shelf!!

Amazing.

I'll take $550.00 over $2,498.00ish any day.

I love my husband. How is he so good at everything he does?

I guess spending our tax return on tools was a good investment :)

All Erection Crane.

So, I have this new job. It has been such a blessing, truly. The job is in the heavy equipment, trucks and trailers biz. Yeaaaaaaa - didn't know I had a passion for 18 wheelers, did ya? Well. I really don't, my situation couldn't be any more perfect though. ANY. I love my bosses, co-workers and the flexibility.

Back to the reason of this post. How would one receptionist answer the phone if your company name was All-Crane Erection and Equipment you ask? well, I called a Crane company today to get a quote on a transport on a certain crane, and to answer my own question - one would say, "All Erection" ???

uh, I'm almost certain I would not answer the phone like that. Does she not know? Or, does she know and likes making callers revert back to sixth grade? No matter if it was 4:59 and I was about to walk out of the door on a Friday evening and I had 4 other things to do at the same time - I'd probably answer the phone saying the enTIRE name. All-Crane Erection and Equipment. Thank God we're not a crane company.

our wedding is famous!

Our wonderful photographer for our wedding in December got published in a darling wedding blog! This is really exciting to me for some reason. Just another excuse to go look at our wedding photos again :)

Caroline is super, SUPER talented (and really cool, don't believe me - just go look at her blog for a bit) and enjoyed having her there capturing such great moments. I still have zero pictures printed or framed for our house. What the heck? ...terrible ex-bride

crud war.

We had one of my favorite nights at YoungLife tonight. Crud War. For some, it's the most dreaded night of the year, but for reasons, I love it. First, you get to see a ton of kids that you don't normally see on a Monday night. Second, IT IS A COMPLETE HOT MESS. Third, it is a great reminder, at the end of the epic battle, to see what a mess we really are. How dirty, how filthy, how torn up are we all really? all of us. We walk around, day to day, hiding all of the dirt, water balloons, cake, unidentified mush, flour, ketchup, mustard and shaving cream, but for one day we wear it around all over our bodies, for all to see. What a great night to remember that we're all burdened with sin and that Christ came here to save us from it all. His blood wipes us clean. God, please remember these kids tonight. Help them to see how perfectly great you are. Let them see their sin and plead for your son. amen.

watering can..

look at that little guy! I bought him for the office this spring for watering our new plants. It is for kids, but I couldn't pass it up.. It makes me much happier than the plain-jane plastic ones. He sits on my desk to also serve as decoration. Every time I turn around.. there he is, smiling at me. how cute. now off to my gardening...
